Experience the Design Thinking workshop to be conducted by Commonwealth Bank of Australia on Nov 25 & 26 in Singapore

Problem Statement

Current global conditions are forcing a rethink of existing business models. To address evolving externalities the Singapore Government in its 2016 budget announced the Industry Transformation Program which will focus on Transforming Enterprises, Transforming Industries and Transforming through Innovation.

Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) form the core of Singapore’s economy comprising over 90% of registered businesses and employing over 70% of Singapore’s workforce. The Singapore Business Federation[1] (SBF) suggests two ways for SMEs to address growth and development – (i) creating better measures for internal management e.g. business costs, logistics, manpower, financing and internationalisation (ii) transition from business-as-normal to value creation through external collaboration with customers, research organisations and supply chain partners.

With this backdrop, Innovate Singapore 2016 is seeking to identify creative approaches to address the problem statement: How can improved management or external collaboration approaches support the growth aspirations of SMEs?  Solutions being sought, independent of industry sector, are encouraged in these three areas – (i) market access within ASEAN (ii) new technology adoption (iii) people-process-product transformations
