Universities Australia CHAMMP’s Program
The China Australia Middle Managers Program (CHAMMP) supports senior administrators and leaders of universities in China and Australia to study first-hand the high level administration and research leadership in each other’s countries. CHAMMP aims to build links and collaboration between universities in both countries by facilitating knowledge and skills at the middle management level. Universities Australia has sought the services of Murdoch University Executive Education Centre’s (EEC) to deliver a two-day workshop on the theme of “Leadership in Universities” as part of the program.
The Workshops provide leadership learning through a series or combination of theoretical, simulated and experiential approaches in three key areas of leadership: Inquiry, Relating and Advocacy. These three components are demonstrated through engagement with faculty and professional staff from Murdoch University (incorporating, as appropriate, visits to their respective offices and/or facilities) and other universities in Australia in areas of interest to middle managers from Chinese universities in the areas of funding, research and teaching, management and administration.
Through a “Learning Application Proposal” participants will be guided systematically to reflect on their own management experience in the light of their thinking on the proposed program, and of their exposure to the management and leadership practices they encounter on their visits.
